The Ochie Bag
Inspired by earthy textures and natural materials, the Ochie Bag is a handcrafted leather shoulder bag designed to soften and develop character with wear.
One side features a studded spiral detail, while the other is finished with a labradorite stone sourced from Madagascar.
The adjustable shoulder strap features a buckle and stud detailing, allowing you to customise the length for your preferred fit. Long leather tassels are individually attached by hand around the sides and base, adding movement and texture to the piece.
Inside, the Ochie has a practical pocket for smaller essentials and a zip-top closure to keep everything secure.

Leather is a natural material and may soften, deepen in tone and develop character over time.
- Keep away from prolonged moisture, rain and excessive direct sunlight.
- If wet, allow to air dry naturally away from direct heat.
- Do not machine wash or soak.
- Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- Avoid contact with harsh chemicals, perfumes and oils.

Thank you for choosing something made slowly and with care. Once your Mahala piece is ready to leave us, we’ll wrap it thoughtfully and send it on its way to you as soon as we can.

As a small, independent brand, each order is packed by hand with care.
Please allow 1–3 business days for your order to be packed and dispatched.
Once your parcel is on its way, estimated Australia Post delivery times are:
Standard Shipping
Metro areas: approximately 2–5 business days
Regional areas: up to 7 business days
Express Shipping
Metro areas within the Australia Post Express network: approximately 1–2 business days
Regional areas: up to 3 business days
These timeframes are estimates provided by Australia Post and may occasionally shift during busy periods or due to unexpected delays along the way.

Once your order has been lovingly packed and sent on its journey, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking number.
You can follow your parcel all the way to your door through Australia Post.

Please take a moment to make sure your delivery address is correct before placing your order.
We can send your parcel to residential addresses, business addresses, PO Boxes and Parcel Lockers throughout Australia.
If your parcel finds its way back to us because an incorrect or incomplete address was entered at checkout, an additional postage fee may be required to send it back out to you.

I’d love you to know that Mahala is rooted in reciprocity with the earth. We believe that if we take from nature, we should do so with care, gratitude and intention. That means choosing natural materials where we can, making slowly, producing in small batches, valuing the hands behind each piece, and creating things to be kept and loved rather than quickly replaced.
Being mindful of this our packaging choices are as follows.

Made from 100% certified organic cotton — reuse.
✼ Kraft box
Recycle with cardboard, or reuse it for storage, gifting or gardening.
✼ Australia Post mailer
Made from 80% recycled plastic. Give it another adventure — reuse or recycle with soft plastics if available in your area.
✼ Acid-free tissue paper
Reuse or compost.
✼ Paper tape — plastic free
Leave it on the box when recycling.
✼ Twine
Keep it for wrapping gifts, gardening or craft projects.
Limited Drop Returns & Exchange Policy
Mahala pieces are created slowly and released in limited small-batch drops. Because quantities are intentionally kept small, we cannot guarantee that a particular style, colour or size will ever be restocked.
For this reason, we do not offer returns, refunds or exchanges for change of mind, incorrect size selection or a change in preference.

If you believe your item is faulty, damaged or does not match its description, please contact us so we can assess the issue and arrange an appropriate remedy.
